For over 5 years I have been getting emails asking for functionality where members can see the signing habits of their favorite team. Each and every time I always responded it was something we could not do as we did not store any information about teams in our database. This changes today....

I am happy to bring premium members Teams to SportsCollectors.Net!!!

Before we walk you through the new screens, I'd like to talk about the changes and what we did:

• We decided we would start with the 1948 season - since that is pretty much when the major card sets started coming out and before that almost all the players have passed away. We imported every player that has played since then into our database - and there were thousands of new players in our database. 
  
  
• We will only add teams after that sport's season has ended, to limit the workload trying to keep up with in season player movement.
  
  
• Unfortuantely we were not able to get data that included deceased players for football, basketball, and hockey players. We will work toward updating these areas. If you see players who are inaccuracies or deceased player not marked accordingly, please email me.
  
  
• We went through our database and cleaned up inconsistencies and mispelling for thousands of records.

I the Sigs By Mail Section, there is now a menu item on the left named "Teams". Click on this item, and you will see the screen below:

You can pick the sport and then the team, and you will be presented links to all the years in our database. In addition, there is an All Time Roster which takes you to a screen with every player who played on that team in our database. Once you click on a link to a specific year, you will see a screen like the one below:

Here you can see the signing habits of all the players on that teams from our Sigs By Mail database. You can also notice this screen denoted the number of players found, deceased players, and Hall of Famers.

The Player Search screen now includes information about the number of teams that player is linked with, as shown by the red box below:

Clicking on the link with the number of teams wil take you to a new view on Player Profile screen below showing all the teams the player is associated with:
