NEW FEATURE: Filtering & Sorting for Signings

Over the past 6 months, we pretty much always have hundreds of Upcoming Signings on SportsCollectors.net. So we have been interested in continually making this area better for collectors and promoters

SCN member Goofy2 suggested on our message board:

when new private signings are added under the specific sport, it would be nice if say that the list of signings can be sorted by date so we know the newest ones. Right now, they're sorted by last name, but it would be great if the newest ones would be at the top

While we already offered the ability to sort all of the upcoming signings by date, we wanted to make easier for members to find and to allow them to the filter the list.

Enhancement - Filtering by Sport & Team + Easier Sorting

On our Signings page, you now will see 2 dropdown lists (shown in the screen below):
  1. "Filter by" where you can select a Sport
  2. "Sort By" where you can sort the list by Signing Date, Player's Last Name, Promoter's username, or the Date, Newest Signings posted

Once you filter by Sport, you then will see an option to filter by a team:

Private signings continue to grow in popularity on SportsCollectors.net, so we want to help members not miss out on signings they would be interested in

SCN member wlbolton made a good suggestion on our message board:

So I from time to time will go over my want lists (player and set) and poke around to see if there are any recent successes from those players. Is it possible to build something that will put like a notification box that shows an upcoming signing coming up for that player?

[b]Enhancement - New Icon[/b]

Today we introduced a new icon in various areas of the site:
icon_Signing Denotes there is an upcoming Paid/Private Signing. You can click on the SIGNING icon next to their name to see details.

Here are some example screens where you will see the icons:

SCN Member is New Pro Football Hall of Famer

There are pretty interesting and incredible folks in this community, both as collectors and as people. It was a huge reason I wanted to create SCN, so I could meet other folks who share this fun hobby with me. You all continually amaze me!

Long time SCN member dawg3232 (Ray "Showdawg" Prisby) is a passionate collector focused on his love for his Cleveland Browns. I'd venture to guess he has the best Browns collection around.

Ray was nominated as part of the Ford "Hall of Fans" contest to find the biggest football fans around the country and the winner(s) would be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall fo Fame. Ray posted the below video on our message board:



I can't even imagine the thrill of having an all time great (and maybe the greatest athlete and football player ever) like Jim Brown come visit his home and present him with such an award.

Here is a video of Ray being interviewed by Fox 8 news in Cleveland, as it shows some nice shots of his incredible collection:



So the 3 finalists were flown down to Tampa to attend Super Bowl LV. They represented the Browns (Ray), Cardinals (Kristi Brown), and Raiders (Wayne Mabry). They were told that only one super fan would be selected as the winner that weekend. Here are pics of the finalists at the big game:





David Baker (yes, he's 6'9) is the president of the Hall of Fame, and he is well known for being the person who shows up at players homes to tell them they have been selected to join the Hall of Fame. He wound up surprising all three finalists and let them all know that they are all winners - meaning they will all be joining the Hall of Fame. Here are pictures Ray shared:

Hearing this story is one of my favorite things that has happened in our community (over 20+ years), and gave me so much enjoyment.
