NEW FEATURE: Signing Fee List and Icons Friday, June 5, 2020 Posted by jaygross Comments: 0
What we had was useful, but could be better!
About 12 years ago we introduced "Player Notes" - which allowed members to share important information about a player to inform our community of collectors. Unfortunately it has been massively under utilized feature.
With more players now requiring fees or donations to sign items, we figured it would be a good thing to make this more obvious to our community.
Previously, the only place you could see if a player had a "Note" for community or add notes was on player's profile page (shown on the left side in red box):

You could click on the link in the red box to then see a "Player Note" page and see some important information (like the details around the signing fees for Steve Carlton):

Enhancement #1 - New Icons
There are 2 new icons throughout the site where you see player listings:
Denotes the person requires a fee or donation to sign. You can click on the FEE icon next to their name to see details.
Denotes the community has added info for this person. You can click on the NOTE icon next to their name to see details.
(Here you'll be able to alert the community of ghost signers, autopen, players who won't sign certain items, etc.)
Below is the Player Search Results, and you can see the entry for Steve Carlton has a clickable :

Enhancement #2 - Signing Fees Pages for each sport
We have made consolidated signing fee pages for each sport (in the Sigs by Mail section):

Baseball
Basketball
Football
Hockey
Other Sports
Enhancement #3 - Categories for Notes and Fees
In order to make it easier for members to supply and read info, we added a category dropdown when you submit notes:
